COMPASSION EVANGELICAL HOSPITAL is in a critical financial situation. Due to the poor economy in Guinea and patients avoiding clinics and hospitals for fear of catching Ebola, hospital revenue is dramatically down. Presently, the WHO estimates that we likely will not achieve control or plateau of the epidemic in West Africa for another 8 or 9 months; the worst case scenarios are catastrophic. To help, you can mail a check to: Compassion Evangelical Hospital, P.O. Box 870, Southfield, MI 48037

QUILTING DAY - Can you tie a knot? If so you are qualified to help put together quilts! Each 2nd Wednesday of the month, we meet in the overflow area at 1 p.m. to put together quilts which are distributed locally as well as around the world. We have MANY which need putting together. If you would like to donate to the new carpet fund, please indicate on your envelope "NEW CARPET FUND DONATION". This donation will be part of your total church givings. In the overflow area is a fund raising gauge showing the donation status.

CHURCH SIGNS - Recently members of the Cross Ministry/Outreach Ministry had several metal roadside signs made by the Huron Co. Road Commission advertising our church and school. Now we are preparing to have the signs installed by the road commission at various locations on the outskirts of Pigeon. We have been looking for strategic locations where our members live and trying to determine the best visual locations for these signs. They are small signs, so they would be best read at an intersection where traffic is stopped or in an area where speeds are reduced. If you think you might know of a good place for a one post sign on your property, please contact Lori Smith or Richard Koehler soon. Thank you for your consideration!

JEAN QUILTS - We are planning an afternoon work session to work on jean quilts for Cross high school seniors, Thursday, February 18 from 1-5 p.m. We will be cutting, pressing, and sewing quilt tops. Bring sewing scissors, rotary cutters and mats, an iron or sewing machine. We will meet in the overflow area or family room depending or other activities at church. There is an over abundance of jeans thanks to many donors and we need to condense. I you have an interest in this project please call Leanne Smith at 989-553-4241 or Sheila Yackle at 989-453-2589.
