FOOD PANTRY - Children need a nutritious start to the school day. Cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup are good options. Currently there is a shortage of Peanut Butter. Always in need are toiletries and personal items. Please place the items in the tote inside the East Door Entrance. Anything you can donate is helpful. Thank you.
COMPASSION EVANGELICAL HOSPITAL is in a critical financial situation. Due to the poor economy in Guinea and patients avoiding clinics and hospitals for fear of catching Ebola, hospital revenue is dramatically down. Presently, the WHO estimates that we likely will not achieve control or plateau of the epidemic in West Africa for another 8 or 9 months; the worst case scenarios are catastrophic. To help, you can mail a check to: Compassion Evangelical Hospital, P.O. Box 870, Southfield, MI 48037
QUILTING DAY - Can you tie a knot? If so you are qualified to help put together quilts! Each 2nd Wednesday of the month, we meet in the overflow area at 1 p.m. to put together quilts which are distributed locally as well as around the world. We have MANY which need putting together. Please stop by and help out! MISSING! One of the quilt racks has gone astray. If you know its location, please call the church office. Thank you.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES Please take a look at the display table in the hall, and see a few of the items that you could buy for our shoeboxes. Also, you can take a tag off the OCC giving tree to aid you in buying your donations. Last year Cross and the Pigeon community sent 550 shoebox gifts and the story of the gospel to hurting children around the world. Think of the impact that made! Pray for all the people involved in this mission and ask God to guide you in your participation this year! If you have questions, talk to Lori Smith.
BUTTONS, BUTTONS, BUTTONS - If you have spare buttons, any size and any color, please drop them off at the Welcome Center. They will be used to do a project with the Long Term Care residents at Scheurer Hospital. Thank you.

8God saved us by his grace when we believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. - Ephesians 2:8-9 - New Living Translation (NLT)
In this age of being able to practically shop for everything online, sometimes it is necessary for the 'hands-on' experience of actually picking up and examining an item. This is particularly true when considering a new Bible. With so many translations and styles, it is easier to browse through a selection before making a choice.
