Sunday Classes: 10:45 a.m.
COMMUNION BREAD We need people to sign up to provide communion bread.
FAMILY FRIENDLY ZONE - Families with small children need easy access to the exits. We would like to keep the last two rows of pews in the church available for them. Please keep this in mind when selecting your seating.
SCRIP CARD SALES will take place on the first Sunday of each month after service.
UPDATED CHURCH DIRECTORY - If you or a family member have had a change of phone number, email address, or regular mail address in the last two years, please make sure the office is aware of the change. Thank you
NEW PARSONAGE: If you would like to donate money to help build the new parsonage, please make your check out to Cross Lutheran Parsonage Building Fund. Your donation will then be applied to a separate account designated for the building of a new parsonage. Thank you
FITNESS CLASSES are held here in our gym on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. This is an 8 week program. For more information contact instructor Jeannie Putman at 989-529-6164.
FOOD PANTRY - Children need a nutritious start to the school day. Cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup are good options. Currently there is a shortage of Peanut Butter. Always in need are toiletries and personal items. Please place the items in the tote inside the East Door Entrance. Anything you can donate is helpful. Thank you
NEEDED - We are in need of new or gently used sheets for quilt backs. Please bring them to the church office. Thank you. We also need coffee to be used for coffee hours and funerals. Any contributions are greatly appreciated.
SHOEBOX TIME! This year we're really looking ahead and trying to increase the number of shoeboxes that Cross will send to Samaritan's Purse. An empty shoeboxes you have maybe put in the Family Storage Room all year long! School supplies are cheap right now. Pick up some extras when you are shopping and put them in the OCC tub in the main coat room. Items we can use are: markers, crayons, rulers, coloring books scissors, notebooks, paper, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, glue sticks, underwear, t-shirts, clothing, shoes, sandals. Thank you!
BUTTONS, BUTTONS, BUTTONS - If you have spare buttons, any size and any color, please drop them off at the Welcome Center. They will be used to do a project with the Long Term Care residents at Scheurer Hospital. Thank you.
SHARED BLESSINGS table has been set up n the back hallway of the church. Please bring in any garden or orchard extras that you have and place them on the table before church to share with others. After the service, be sure to check the table to see if there is anything you can use!
CROSS SCHOOL NEWS: REGISTRATION: If you know of a family interested in enrolling at Cross School, please have them contact Pastor or the school office.
HUNTER EDUCATION classes will be September 4, 6 & 13 at Caseville Rod & Gun Club on Dunn Road. Register September 4 at 6:00 p.m., class is from 6-9 p.m. Class on September 6 & 13 is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring $10 to cover cost of supplies, ammo and lunch. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
CEA FAMILY NIGHT is scheduled for Thursday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m.
THUMB BREADBASKET - The next distribution is Saturday, September 13 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Laker Elementary School. If you are able to help, setup begins at 7:00 a.m.
HURON COUNTY CHAPTER OF THRIVENT FINANCIAL is having a /Mediterranean Dinner on Wednesday, September 17 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bad Axe. Doores open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:00 p.m. To reserve by September 12, call Sue Ronka at 989-269-7642.
LADIES 1/2 DAY RETREAT - will be Saturday, September 27 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Oakwood Housing Admin. Building in Caseville. Watch for details!
ADOPT A HIGHWAY clean up for the fall will by Saturday, September 27. we will clean our 2 mile portion of M-25 beginning at 10 a.m. Please plan on helping, with 10-12 people it only takes about an hour! Meet at Walt's Meat Market at 3189 Port Austin Rd. (M-25) and park on the east side as he will be open for business.
