Guiding children to learn, to love, and to live under the grace of God's forgiveness

Who We Are...

Cross Lutheran School provides quality Christian education for students in Preschool through 8th grade.  Our school offers the opportunity for children to learn in a Christian environment. We are an extension of the family in teaching God's Word daily and in helping children see their lives as a calling in Christ. We strive to help them grow spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally, and socially.
Christianity is not taught only as a separate subject (religion) but is integrated throughout the course of the school day and permeates our school's culture. We are a Christian scho
ol and we teach Christian values based on the Bible.

Our teachers are certified and dedicated to Christian education. We offer smaller class sizes than public schools. With such a low student-to-teacher ratio, we can provide more individual attention and instruction for our students.

Christ-Centered

We confess the apostolic faith in Jesus Christ according to the Holy Scriptures. We affirm the authority of the Scriptures as the authoritative source and norm, “according to which all doctrines should and must be judged” (Formula of Concord). We accept the ecumenical creeds and the Lutheran Confessions as true witnesses to the Word of God.

Mission-Driven

We believe that the mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel and to make disciples for Christ. We believe that making disciples — in our congregations, in our communities and nations, and around the world — must be a priority of the Church in the present age.

Traditionally-Grounded

We affirm the ecumenical creeds and the faithful witness of the Church across time and space. We endorse the form and practices of the universal Church that are consistent with Scripture, particularly the office of the ministry and the tradition of worship under Word and Sacrament. We seek dialogue and fellowship with other Lutheran churches and with faithful Christians of other confessions.

Congregationally-Focused
We strive to be a church that is organized to facilitate the ministries of local congregations in a posture of servanthood and a spirit of partnership, through the provision of resources, connections, and information.

About Bible Gateway

DESCRIPTION

Bible Gateway is a searchable online Bible tool hosting more than 200 versions of the Bible in over 70 languages that you can freely read, research, and reference anywhere. Including a library of audio Bibles, mobile apps, devotionals, email newsletters, and other free resources, Bible Gateway equips you not only to read the Bible but to understand it.

HISTORY

The original multilingual searchable Bible website, Bible Gateway was started in 1993 by Nick Hengeveld, a student at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, who had a visionary passion to make the Bible digitally accessible to everyone through the very new technology at the time called the Internet.

In 1995 Nick became the first webmaster of Gospelcom.net, now Gospel.com. He brought Bible Gateway with him, and since then, the service has been the daily favorite online resource for hundreds of millions of people around the world. In 2008 Bible Gateway became a division of Zondervan, and is, today, a member of HarperCollins Christian Publishing. We continue to add new translations, and languages, and add functionality to Bible Gateway to help you conveniently engage the Bible and make it an integral part of your everyday life.

Bible Gateway Plus takes Bible study to an even deeper level with instant digital access to 50+ premium resources that enhance your understanding of each passage. Sign up today for less than $5 a month.
