Pr. Kevin Kaiser was born in Bellevue, Ohio, and grew up in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. As a youth, he was very active in the school band and church activities. To this day, he serves the church and has a basement full of percussion instruments. He is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN (BA. in Family Studies and Religion) and Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota (Master of Divinity). He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Institute of Lutheran Theology in Brookings, South Dakota. He was ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in 2008 and was certified to serve in the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) earlier this year.

Pr. Kevin comes to us from Calvary Lutheran Church in Minong, Wisconsin, where he has served since 2019. Calvary called Pr. Kevin as they emerged from a significant conflict. Pr. Kevin provided leadership as Calvary refocused on solid preaching and worship, rebuilt trust, and developed a reputation for hospitality and generosity. Prior to Calvary, he served small congregations in the Upper Peninsula. He also served as a student minister in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Alaska. He is also a percussionist, cook, and a student of Kung Fu. Some at Cross Lutheran have asked whether or not he hunts. He does not hunt (yet), but has lots of experience cooking for hunters, even helping a few young hunters learn to enjoy the venison they will harvest.

Pr. Kevin is married to Steffany, whom he met while serving at her church in Republic, Michigan. They married in 2014, and their son William was born in 2015. Steffany holds degrees from Suomi College in Hancock, Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. She most recently worked as a fitness center housekeeper and volunteered as Calvary’s Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School director. She loves to work and volunteer in ways that are out of the spotlight. She is also the only one in the family who is a devoted fan of a professional sports team (Go Red Wings!). William will enroll at Cross Lutheran School as a 4th-grader. He enjoys basketball, karate, and playing Roblox. Their household has recently grown to include Priscilla Martti (Steffany's mom) and Alex (the family dog). The whole family enjoys cheering on school sports, thrift shopping, Bingo, reading, and trying new restaurants. Their fall seasons are usually spent canning pickles and apples.

The Kaisers send their gratitude for Cross's incredible generosity and hospitality during this transition. January will be here before we know it!
